PROJECT TITLE: EUROLINK

Eurolink is a networking agency which provides information, advice and a range of support services on EU/transnational opportunities to a wide range of organisations in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland.

The project provides an innovative infrastructure to promote beneficial transnational co-operation through the introduction of additional European partners, projects and models of good development practice to both statutory and non-statutory organisations across its area of operation.

Eurolink services include: Information on EU funding, tailored training programmes, work placements, group study visits and partner-finding services for EU projects and programmes. As well as producing a monthly electronic newsletter for its clients, Eurolink also regularly produces EU publications on a wide range of themes.

The project promotes transnational activities across a wide range of sectors including Agriculture/Rural Development, Arts/Culture, Disability, Education, Elderly, Employment, Environment, Health, ICT, Small Business/Entrepreneurship, Women and Youth.

Eurolink is an active member of a number of European Networks and utilises its contacts throughout the enlarged Europe and beyond in order to fulfil its organisational objectives and to facilitate the two-way sharing of experiences and expertise between organisations and individuals in N. Ireland and the Border Counties with those operating in other regions of Europe.

In addition to its European contacts, Eurolink is currently developing new linkages in North America in order to expand the range of services on offer to its clients.

Eurolink is a founder member and current co-ordinators of Network NI.

FERMANAGH TRUST
PROJECT TITLE: The Fermanagh Social Economy Network Initiative

This project is being lead by The Fermanagh Trust in conjunction with the Fermanagh Local Strategy Partnership Board focusing on the development of 3 key themes, namely the development of sustainable social enterprises, partnership working and the community foundation model in County Fermanagh.

The project is clearly focused on learning from other regions, with the project promoters carrying out networking activities exploring national and international best practice.

Field study visits are a key feature of the project, as these are considered a practical and useful way of learning, based on past experiences. Participants include local community activists and leaders. The initiative has to date established effective working relationships with project throughout the UK and Ireland, in Europe in particular Sweden and Eastern Europe and in the USA.
