NetworkNI Brochure

NetworkNI is comprised of members of civil society from the public, private and community/voluntary sectors of Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland. Network NI memebers have an active interest in developing partnerships and projects with organisations in Europe and beyond.

Addressing the legacy of conflict, NetworkNI members want to engage further in a two-way process of sharing information, skills and international best practice with other regions in Europe to develop mutually beneficial collaborative ventures.

The purpose of this website is to provide information about the origins of NetworkNI and a description of the wide range of organisations and projects that have come together to form NetworkNI.

The Member pages represents only a sample of the activities Network members are engaged in. If you would like to know more about NetworkNI, its members or projects, or have an interest in developing links with any of the Network NI projects please contact us for further information.

BACKGROUND

NetworkNI emerged from those organisations who received funding under Measure 4.1 'Networking in Europe and Beyond' of the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland.

The Network is a diverse cross-sectoral organisation representing Business, Community, Youth, Education and Culture. Network NI members' work together by sharing contacts and creating strategic alliances in response to European inter-regional funding opportunities.

Building upon the knowledge of its membership, NetworkNI promotes members' expertise, skills and services throughout Europe and beyond, to develop strategic partnerships which contribute towards the sustainability of its membership.

NetworkNI raises the profile of its members by developing contacts and relationships with government, funding agencies and key decision makers at regional, national and European levels.

 
OBJECTIVES

Network NI objectives:

I. Create enhanced partnership opportunities for civil society from N Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland throughout Europe and beyond

II. Participate in European inter-regional co-operation, engaging in transnational and international funding programmes and projects

III. Build capacity by sharing effective practice through collaborative ventures

IV. Facilitate the development of horizontal and vertical information sharing at regional, national and European levels

V. Lobby policymakers and influencers over matters of concern to its membership
